Andrew Jackson's Hermitage is located at 4580 Rachel's Lane, Nashville, TN 37076. From I-40 west, take exit 221, and from I-40 East, take exit 221A. Then, Old Hickory Boulevard north until you see the entrance sign for The Hermitage on the right. Please note that Rachel's Lane is not accessible from Lebanon Pike.

You also are able to visit the garden, other historic buildings on the site, and enjoy walking trails, historical markers, and more on the 1,120 acres that make up The Hermitage plantation.

Yes, dogs are allowed to roam the historic grounds of the Hermitage as long as they remain leashed. However, they are not allowed inside any building, including the Hermitage mansion or Andrew Jackson Center. Please bring bags to dispose of waste.

Motorized and non-motorized wheelchairs are welcome at the Hermitage. Due to the historic nature of the site, much of the grounds may present challenges to those in wheelchairs or those who have difficulty walking. Many of the paths are paved, and wheelchair ramps are available at the Hermitage mansion. Please note that the Hermitage mansion does not have an elevator, so the second floor is not accessible to those in wheelchairs. Interpreters on the first floor have photos available of the rooms on the second floor and would be happy to provide explanations of those rooms.
