This Grounds Pass includes access to the Andrew Jackson Center, featuring the film and exhibits, as well as entry to the one-acre English garden, the president’s tomb, and over 1,120 acres of preserved grounds with walking trails and interpretive signage. The Hermitage offers a bag check, but they do encourage you to leave backpacks, large bags and large purses in your vehicle. Please note that any items worn or carried inside the premises are subject to search.

Can I bring my dog?

Yes, dogs are allowed to roam the historic grounds of the Hermitage as long as they remain leashed. However, they are not allowed inside any building, including the Hermitage mansion or Andrew Jackson Center. Please bring bags to dispose of waste.

Is The Hermitage wheelchair accessible?

Motorized and non-motorized wheelchairs are welcome at the Hermitage. Due to the historic nature of the site, much of the grounds may present challenges to those in wheelchairs or those who have difficulty walking. Many of the paths are paved, and wheelchair ramps are available at the Hermitage mansion. Please note that the Hermitage mansion does not have an elevator, so the second floor is not accessible to those in wheelchairs. Interpreters on the first floor have photos available of the rooms on the second floor and would be happy to provide explanations of those rooms.
