The Emerald Cave Paddle Board Tour lasts approximately 3 - 3.5 hours, excluding hotel pick-up and drop-off, and covers a distance of approximately 4 miles on a slow-flowing and clear river with no rapids.
It is highly recommended to bring sunscreen, sunglasses, and a large hat to shade your entire head and neck. Additionally, a small dry-bag for personal items is useful, and a waterproof case for your phone or camera is essential. Ziplock bags can be an effective alternative.
Wear light, quick-drying layers in winter. Water shoes, Teva-style sandals, or sneakers are recommended; avoid flip-flops as some areas are rocky and muddy. Long sleeve shirts are useful, and wearing long-board shorts or a bathing suit under your clothes is advisable.
Paddlers will launch from Willow Beach Marina in Willow Beach, Arizona, about an hour from the Las Vegas Strip. You will paddle on the Colorado River.
Guests must be at least 6 years old and accompanied by an adult, and at least 14 years old and 100lbs to paddle alone.
Cold water and snacks (fresh fruit, granola bars, chips) are provided. However, if you feel you will need more, you are welcome to bring your own snacks or lunch. There should be time at the end of the tour to stop at the gift shop and/or the café at marina as well.
