Description

Step back in time and immerse yourself in the rich history of Felicity Plantation, an enchanting sugarcane plantation in Vacherie, Louisiana. Uncover the fascinating stories of the plantation's origins, built between 1844 and 1847 by Valcour Aime as a wedding gift.

Felicity Plantation is part of the Louisiana Sugarcane Museum. The home is a beautiful combination of Greek Revival with strong Creole influence. Like St. Joseph, sugarcane is still farmed here today. The Waguespack family bought it 1877, and in 1901 a corporation was formed to include both St. Joseph and Felicity and the 2500 acres. It is still owned by this corporation today.

In addition being a working sugarcane farm, Felicity's grounds are known for several renowned film and TV projects such as Skeleton Key, 12 Years a Slave, parts of the remake of Roots, Underground, and Filthy Rich.
