What should we bring on a New York sail?

Bring oil-free sunblock, and an extra layer of clothing as the temperature can be a little lower out on the water. Wear yachting attire that’s comfortable, casual, and ready for the day’s weather. Don’t forget your phone & camera. NYC sailboat cruises reveal the best views of New York City.

What are items prohibited on board?

Smoking/Vaping, red wine, and illegal drugs are not allowed on board. Leave your fancy footwear at home. In warm weather, the charter is a barefoot boat. Shoes are stored safely during the sail.

Sailing is inherently dangerous, and all risks outside the reasonable control of the owners or operators of GSNYC are waived.

Is this tour suitable for children?

Yes, this tour is suitable for all ages. A parent or guardian must accompany passengers under 18. USCG needs all infants and children, regardless of age, to be considered in the six-person maximum. Maximum 3 children on the vessel. A parent or guardian must accompany each child.

Do we have to wear a life jacket during the sailing tour in NYC?

GSNYC recommends that children wear a USCG-approved Life Jacket. Adults 18 years and older are solely responsible for deciding if they want to wear a Life Jacket. Parents or guardians are responsible for determining if a minor aged 14-17 must wear a Life Jacket. New York State law requires persons 13 years of age and under to wear a Life Jacket.
