Explore two of Louisiana’s few remaining working sugarcane farms on a guided tour of St. Joseph Plantation and Felicity Plantation. Together, these historic estates cultivate approximately 1,000 acres of sugarcane annually and preserve a rich legacy of Southern plantation life.

This immersive tour offers access to the main plantation homes, original slave cabins, a blacksmith shop, schoolhouse, and other preserved outbuildings. Exhibits include post-Civil War sharecropper tokens, antique farming tools, and a short film explaining the sugar production process. Visitors can admire period architecture and gain insight into the complexities of plantation life, from the antebellum period through the 20th century.

Both properties have also served as filming locations for acclaimed movies and series, including 12 Years a Slave, Mudbound, Queen Sugar, and The Skeleton Key.
